Natasha Ralph - Studying at De Montfort University
All work is my own unless stated

I haven’t updated in a while so let’s catch you up on what I’ve been doing so far.

Mostly, I have been testing and writing my dissertation, but I have been designing my 1st warp and getting it onto the loom.  This involved doing yarn wraps, artworks, sketches, and getting the warp plan sorted to begin the design process and once that was sorted, the setting up began.  I chose for my 1st warp monofilament and somac yarns to reflect the glossy finishes on the buildings and the colourful effects created through my photography and photoshop work.  the yarns had to be warped, wound on, raddled, thread up, thread through the beater, and tied on.

Overall, just the setting up process has taken about 2 weeks as I have a lot of ends per inch.  Today I finally tied on and will be ready to weave in the morning!

I’ll post some pictures later on of my doings later on!
